Back in the Fit Hunt...Long Story
So my new Focus...only a week and a half old...didn't start. Was an ECM, apparently. New ECM....no start. More diagnosis...no solution. The service advisor said "Well, I have no idea. Neither does the technician. But after calling around there are other dealers in the area with the same problem on these cars"
Specifically 5 speed Focus(es)....and I thought the 6 speed auto was a problem. No start, no solution.
So off to the manager's office.
Gotta give this dealer a lot of credit. They have been awesome with my Escape and showed me why they are rated #1 in the area today. He offered a replacement car but the equipment, colour etc could not be easily found. I said I wasn't keen to wait weeks for a new car I haven't even made a payment on.
So, he marched me over to my Escape, still on the used car lot since I traded it, and said "want it back?" Long story short, they took the focus back, reversed all the paperwork and charges, and gave me my Escape back. They even refinanced the amount owning at a lower rate than I was paying. I get it back in 2 days after the licensing office does their thing. (I even got to keep the new windshield and front brakes they installed!!)
Not sure if I should mention the dealer or not...some forums frown on that...but I gave them HUGE props on the Escape forum for what they did.
So, back to square one. No Focus for me. I will be looking for a Fit, but probably in the summer when the deals are better.
